Sr. Specialist, Marketing Communications (14 Month Maternity Leave Contract)

 

Under direction of the Sr. Manager, Marketing Communications the incumbent is responsible for supporting the planning and execution of consumer marketing based programs for Canada designed to deliver on key Marketing and Sales division annual KPIs. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager, with a strong day-to-day collaboration with the Mobile product management team.

The primary accountability for the role is to create, develop and implement consumer focused integrated marketing programs plans that drive brand preference and demand for a range of Samsung mobile products. While the position will focus on brand marketing, the incumbent needs to be flexible enough to work on events or ad hoc marketing programs, as the needs of the business arise

 

  1. Develop and execute Consumer Marketing Strategies that align to divisional goals and objectives.
  2. Partner with Product Marketing in developing campaign strategies that support product launches and on-going business needs. Ensure alignment among key stakeholders.
  3. Development and execution of communication plans across multiple channels including, but not limited to, broadcast, print, in-store, digital/social media, loyalty initiatives, promotion, events and support PR efforts.
  4. Project manages the executional detail of these plans including budget management, fulfillment management, development of creative briefs and messaging documents and timelines.
  5. Leverage Marketing Intelligence insights to optimize strategy and executional elements.
  6. Manage outsourced resources including Agencies of Record and third party vendors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates system submission and approvals (legal, marketing, finance) for marketing initiatives in order to support on time execution of marketing programs. This includes following up with key business stakeholders to ensure that approvals are taking place on time, and escalating if they are not.
  • Oversees the collection and development of all core launch assets including product images, key visuals, product videos, and style guides. Work with HQ and SEA team to ensure all product assets are up to date for use in SECA marketing activities. Work with agency to ensure work backs for core assets are proactively communicated and delivered on time.
  • Supports the Mobile marketing team on ATL/BTL initiatives related to launch include TV commercial (adaptation & deployment), Production, PR, and Experiential Marketing initiatives. Coordinate and actively participate within the integrated marketing communications process from brief to execution.
  • Supports the preparation of presentations of strategic plans, budgets, and reports for local management and Korean headquarters.
  • Supports the execution and development of launch events, working closely with the Marketing Manager and agencies to complete IM initiatives on time and within budget.

  Assigned Product & Launch planning and execution

  •  Determine key messaging and positioning and key messaging for product and services launches
  • Contribute to and support Mobile launch team that includes internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create communications and promotion programs that support the identified  product and services portfolio, including but not limited to:
  • Launch preparation & communication materials
  • Channel & Retail/Shopper Advertising (ATL) & Promotion (BTL)
  • Consumer Advertising & Media plan  development
  • Digital & social media campaign and programs
  • PR & CSR messaging and strategy support
  • Experiential, sponsorship and/or assisted selling programs
  • Owned media materials and resources
  • Loyalty programs, initiatives & CRM
  • Responsible for reviewing any materials and or messaging related to the launch to ensure consistency and alignment with positioning
  • Act as the champion for brand integrity and compliance in all material
  • Ensure all reviews and approvals are gained (legal, partners, brands, etc.)
  • Estimate scope of work, prepare budgets, and create plan proposals (PPs) and BQMS quote submissions / execution orders (EOs) as part of the planning and approval process.
  • Provide liaison with HQ, NAHQ/SEA or third parties to source marketing assets
  • Brief agencies and ensure work is delivered as specified
  • Review key programs to ensure ROI targets are achieved

 

Qualifications

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related academic field is an asset
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in consumer marketing capacity
  • Must have Microsoft Office Suite of PC software applications experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preparation skills.
  • Experience must include proven performance in creative brief writing; original & adapted advertising creative & media plan development and digital/social marketing savvy.
  • Working in a matrix environment within a function supporting a key sales division
  • Competencies:
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to interact comfortably with a wide range of levels in organizations: from senior executives to support staff within and outside of the company.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, presentation skills.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, personally & professionally resilient and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Must be capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing multiple and simultaneous projects and assignments.
