    Facilities Manager

    Responsible to manage the Facilities and Security within Corporate Affairs Department. Main duties include SECA GTA facilities, ensure best in class execution of facilities construction including renovations and build out, physical security, workplace safety, risk mitigation, operations, sustainability, accessibility, reception; equipment, insurance, audit compliance; office equipment, contracts and services; mailroom and cafeteria operations.

    Significant interactions with all levels of management to ensure needs are identified, services are provided and administrative practices are communicated.

    Manage staff of facilities, reception and contract services personnel.



    • Lead and direct the activities of staff members in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames and specifications
    • Develop tasks, work assignments, clearly define objectives and give technical direction with applied knowledge of alternatives and decision making to guide subordinates
    • Responsible for handling company workplace issues related to Corporate Affairs in GTA area
    • Act as an on-going innovator and thought leader for all aspect of services delivery as well as act as innovation catalyst for team
    • Relationship builder both internal and external for the organization
    • Collaborate with department leaders in working together to achieve organizational mission
    • Accountable for the team achieving all Services Levels. 

    Real Estate and Facilities

    • Interface with leader groups focused on occupancy, utilization, change planning
    • Develops innovative workplace concepts
    • Responsible for all Samsung Electronics Canada GTA offices, over 150,000 sq ft with two current major locations (Mississauga, Halton Hills)
    • Plan facilities changes i.e. construction and renovation projects, office moves
    • Responsible for furniture inventory and leased equipment
    • Travel to sites and audit compliance with administration, security and H&S policies


    Cafeteria Operations Management

    • Responsible for providing employees with meal service convenience via sanitary & efficient cafeteria management
    • Improve cafeteria operation & service via a contract with special vendor of commissioned cafeteria management.
    • Ensure regular customer satisfaction surveys are done and utilize these results as grounds for determining the next contract



    • Responsible for all aspects of physical security
    • Champion for life safety, and crisis planning
    • Carry out investigations pertaining to security matters
    • Improve and increase security culture within all aspects of security
    • Establish an ongoing communication and training program to promote security
    • Ensure security baseline aligns with business operational activities including tracking in dashboard
    • Improve and streamline outsourced security guard operations
    • Responsible for management, change and implement the security and surveillance system (including managing Security access server and CCTV server)

     Health & Safety

    • Responsible for the overall Health and Safety procedures and application in the company
    • Responsible for the completion of the relevant departmental objective
    • Act as chair/member for Committee where required
    • Oversee Emergency Exit routines with Fire marshals group
    • Oversee training program efficiency, quality and effectiveness of First Aid, emergency and equipment procedures
    • Ensure proper accident investigation and reports to WSIB are completed

    Office Administration and Support

    • Responsible for procedures conducted officially in accordance with the criteria by grade as prescribed in Company regulations in case of Company internal events & external events and of visiting & receiving major persons in relation with such events
    • Oversee offsite records management.
    • Oversee and evaluate mailroom services vendor to ensure most efficient and optimum service & cost performance


    • A Bachelor's Degree in business administration or a related field from a college or university preferred
    • Must hold a Facilities designation (ex: CFM, FMP)
    • Must have WSIB certification and First Aid Certified
    • Procurement designation is an asset
    • Project Management skills
    • Ability to read and understand AutoCAD drawings
    • Must have Microsoft Office Suite of PC software applications experience with Excel spreadsheet and PowerPoint preparation skills operating in an NT LAN/WAN systems environment.
    • Have 5+ years facilities management experience with responsibility for the full range of facilities, property management, safety, security functions; construction and administration activities.
