    Senior Specialist, Technical Product Management


    The incumbent is responsible to manage the transfer of technical product specifications, for the Consumer Electronics portfolio, from design engineering to end consumer. Strategically analyze and identify key performance specifications for consumer benefits in support of product training,internal sales team, FMR team and retail sales people at dealer level.  This position will be the product expert in addressing internal and external technical issues and source resolution from both Service and HQ as required.  Primary responsibilities will also include: education of support organizations (training team, FMR, Sales, Product Management), management of product specification communication materials, and merchandising support as it relates to content, technical support for experiential internal and external facing activities.  Project lead for annual dealer summits and internal National Sales Meetings  Smart TV content management, smart home and connected product experience and analysis of trends and future strategic focus to maintain competitive leadership.


    • Coordinate the management of technical product specifications activities that include:
      • Ensuring accuracy of specifications within communications material that are internally and externally facing (print and online)
      • Translation of technical specifications into consumer features and benefits
      • Development of key feature step charts in support of retail execution
      • Marcom support as required for ongoing ATL/BTL activities
      • Frequent communications with HQ for information clarification and flowdown 
    • Technical research with appropriate GBM teams to understand technical functionality for products and supporting key functional groups (Product management, Product Training Team,)
    • Timely content development for merchandising solutions for in-store retail execution (audio & video display loops). Including sourcing and advising on hardware requirements to facilitate proper demonstrations.
    • Technical support for all experiential activities sponsored by Samsung, Retail Partners, or Media events.
    • Leadership role within annual Dealer Show which is held once a year as well as Strategic Partner Meetings (SPM) and internal National Sales meetings (NSM) as required.
    •  Support unique sales opportunities as required (i.e. high profile installations
    • Resolve technical consumer issues as required
    •  Key point person and liaison (internal / external) for CE smart home and connected product strategy.
    • Responsible for collecting information from applicable Samsung GBM’s to understand the specific product messages relating to smart home and connected products within portfolios
    • Required to work cross divisionally to be aware of the connected world in other product categories and with external partners to understand emerging trends in the industry for opportunities and synergy.
    • Build out information into shareable presentations to improve the product knowledge of internal and external stakeholders
    • Lead discussions with CE leadership and support groups on the emerging trends and business opportunities relating to smart home and connected products from a TV/AV and B2C Monitor perspective
    • In conjunction with respective Product management teams formalize strategy to introduce, launch and execute effective smart home and connected product plans within Canada 


    • Manage Smart TV APP development and execution inclusive of:
      • Tracking APP usage and reporting
      • Ensure Canadian territory coverage for new US APP additions
      • Monitor industry activity and strategically assess Canadian focus
      • Manage Tizen and TV OS roadmap for APP support
    • Work with service team and act as point of contact for customer APP issues


    • University Degree or equivalent work experience (5 years)
    • Demonstrated project management skills
    • Consumer Electronics background
    • Knowledge of smart home & connected product technology and emerging trends in this area
    • Video & Audio editing computer skills as they relate to content development
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications
    • Strong technical mindset
    • Attention to detail
    • Sense of urgency
    • Time and priority management focus
    • Strong communication skills
    • Problem solving mindset and demonstrated resolution management skills
